The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to support Halton Multicultural Council (HMC Connections), a charity based in Burlington, Ontario, with the donation of 15 laptops. These devices will be provided to new families who have recently arrived in Canada due to war, offering essential tools for educational purposes, including Zoom meetings, homework, and job searches.
HMC Connections, founded in 1978 by volunteers from various local cultural groups, has been dedicated to creating a welcoming and inclusive community for newcomers and refugees. The organization’s mission is to help immigrants and refugees settle and integrate into Canadian society, ensuring that they can participate as full and active members of the community while fostering mutual respect and understanding.
HMC Connections operates with several key objectives:
- Settlement and Integration Services: Providing programs and services to help immigrants and refugees integrate smoothly into the community.
- Community Education: Developing programs to raise awareness of the needs of immigrants and refugees, facilitating cross-cultural communication and understanding.
