The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to continue its 12 Days of Electronic Giving, an annual campaign dedicated to bridging the digital divide across Canada. Through the refurbishment and donation of electronics, ERA empowers non-profit organizations and individuals with the necessary tools to succeed in today’s digital world.
On Day 11 of this initiative, ERA made impactful contributions to the following organizations:
The Centre for Refugee Children (Toronto, ON):
Donated Items: 4 desktop computers and 1 printer
ERA’s donation will support the Centre for Refugee Children, an organization established in 2021 to provide assistance to refugee and migrant children in Ontario, particularly those who are unaccompanied or separated from their families. This donation will be utilized in the Centre’s new transitional housing facility for unaccompanied and separated refugee youth aged 16-18. The facility will provide 24/7 support to 15 youth, offering a dedicated study space equipped with computers, desks, and tables to foster educational growth and language development. The addition of these devices will play a pivotal role in enhancing their academic progress and overall integration into Canadian society.
Bent Arrow Traditional Healing (Edmonton, AB):
Donated Items: 5 desktop computers, 2 printers, 4 monitors, and 2 projectors
This donation will benefit Bent Arrow Traditional Healing, an organization that serves low-income families in Edmonton. The electronics will provide critical resources for individuals and families in need, specifically aiding in their educational pursuits and job search efforts. By offering access to technology, these donations will help empower community members to improve their educational outcomes and gain better access to employment opportunities.
ERA is still actively seeking donations of electronics to continue supporting charities and individuals in need. If you have unused or surplus devices, your donation can make a significant difference in the lives of those who need it most. Please consider donating to help us further our mission of bridging the digital divide and supporting communities across Canada.
