The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to continue its 12 Days of Electronics Giveaway, supporting Canadian charities and nonprofits with essential technology. Functional devices like laptops, desktops, tablets, and cell phones are vital for these organizations to operate effectively and serve their communities.
While we celebrate these donations, many charities remain on our waitlist, urgently needing technology. If you have unused devices, please consider donating to ERA — your contribution can make a real difference!
Day 5 Recipients:
Donation: 2 desktop computers, 5 monitors, 1 projector
Toronto Fringe provides affordable theatre programming and vital patron services like ticket sales and front-of-house operations. Outdated technology caused delays, software issues, and frustrations, especially for patrons with disabilities, language barriers, or developmental challenges.
This donation will upgrade their systems, ensuring seamless ticketing and attendance processes. With faster, reliable hardware, Toronto Fringe can enhance accessibility and improve experiences for patrons, creators, and staff.
Shoot For Peace (Winnipeg, MB)
Donation: 1 desktop computer, 1 printer, 2 monitors, 1 projector
Shoot For Peace empowers low-income youth through access to quality technology for education and career growth. Limited resources have restricted their programs’ reach. This donation will help equip more youth with tools to bridge the technology gap, creating opportunities for development and success.
NAMB Canada (Hamilton, ON)
Donation: 5 laptops
NAMB Canada’s Send Relief Centre supports over 180 refugees in Hamilton with settlement and job programs. A key initiative teaches coding to refugees, offering free training to earn 20 coding certifications. However, access to laptops is critical for participation.
ERA’s donation will enable more students to gain in-demand skills, empowering them to secure employment and build stable futures for their families.
Trico Centre for Family Wellness (Calgary, AB)
Donation: 3 laptops, 3 tablets
Trico Centre implemented new booking software during the pandemic, but their outdated Android devices caused inefficiencies at Guest Services. This donation will streamline operations, reducing wait times and improving visitor experiences across their programs and facilities.
