ERA Donates 8 Laptops to Support Clients of the Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association (CIWA)

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to announce a recent donation of 8 laptops to the Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association (CIWA). This donation directly supports CIWA’s clients—immigrant and refugee women—who are taking part in vital programs to gain the skills and confidence they need to thrive in Canada.

As part of ERA’s mission to reduce electronic waste and bridge the digital divide, we work with community organizations across Canada to provide access to technology. CIWA has been a long-standing partner of the ERA, and we’re honored to once again contribute to their incredible work empowering women and their families.

Bridging the Digital Divide for Immigrant Women

Technology is more than just a convenience—it’s a lifeline. From job searching and language learning to staying connected with loved ones, access to a working computer can make all the difference. By donating laptops to CIWA’s clients, ERA is helping ensure that these women can participate fully in online training programs, virtual interviews, and digital services that are critical to their success in Canada.

This donation is part of ERA’s ongoing commitment to supporting marginalized communities through the responsible reuse of electronics. Every device donated to ERA has the potential to change a life.

How You Can Help

If your company or household has laptops, desktops, smartphones, or other devices that are no longer being used, consider donating them to ERA. Your retired electronics could be refurbished and given a second life in the hands of someone who truly needs them.
