On March 13th, 2025, the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) proudly partnered with the Saskatoon Police Service to host a successful Fraud Prevention Event focused on raising awareness around cyber fraud and scams.
Residents from across Saskatoon came together to learn how to better protect themselves and their families from online threats, while also taking part in responsible e-waste recycling. Attendees were encouraged to bring their unwanted electronics for secure recycling or donation. Every device received was carefully data-wiped, refurbished, and given a second life by being donated back into the Saskatoon community—benefiting local nonprofits and charities in need.
Thanks to the incredible support of the community, we successfully diverted 2520 lbs of electronic waste from landfills—a major step toward creating a cleaner, more sustainable environment.

In addition, ERA’s mobile hard drive shredder was on-site, offering the public an easy and secure way to dispose of their old hard drives and protect their personal information.
We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of this event. Your participation not only helps reduce e-waste but also plays a part in keeping our communities informed and safe.
A special thank you goes out to the Saskatoon Police Service for spearheading this initiative and for their ongoing commitment to public safety.
