ERA & BBB Collect 1250 lbs at 4th Annual Electronic Recycling Event

By electronic recycling association September 16, 2024

On September 12th, 2024, the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) and the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of Central Canada came together once again for the 4th Annual Electronic Recycling and Shredding Event in Winnipeg. This year’s event was a resounding success, with a total of 1250 pounds of electronic equipment collected.

This annual initiative provided businesses and members of the Winnipeg community with the perfect opportunity to safely dispose of their unwanted electronics, including computers, laptops, cell phones, gaming consoles, printers, and tablets. With a strong focus on safeguarding electronic data and personal information, ERA ensures that each device undergoes a thorough data wipe before being refurbished or responsibly recycled.

The event offered both drop-off and drive-through services, making it easy and convenient for participants to contribute. Once the items were collected, the ERA team managed the rest—either recycling the materials or refurbishing usable electronics. These refurbished devices will be donated to charities in Winnipeg, supporting local initiatives and making a positive impact on the community.

If you missed the event and still have unwanted electronics to recycle, don’t worry! You can drop off your devices at our Winnipeg Depot located at 403-1200 Sherwin Road, Winnipeg, R3H 0K4, or simply call us to book a pickup at (204) 515-3226.

ERA would like to extend a huge thank you to the BBB of Central Canada for hosting another fantastic event with us. Together, we’re making a difference by promoting responsible electronics recycling and giving back to those in need.
