ERA Boosts URSU’s Computer Rehoming Initiative with 20 Laptop Donation at University of Regina
The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) has recently provided a valuable contribution by donating 20 laptops to the University of Regina Students Union, in a concerted effort to bolster their Computer Rehoming Initiative.
The integration of technology has assumed a pivotal role in the academic journey of students, particularly as an increasing number of courses transition to online formats. Acknowledging the obstacles encountered by students and recognizing that not all have access to the requisite computer hardware necessary for their academic success, the University of Regina Students’ Union (URSU) has taken proactive steps to address this issue. URSU’s commitment lies in extending support to students who demonstrate a genuine need for such resources.
With help from the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA), URSU is able to provide its members with refurbished computers for free, thereby helping them get the most out of their educational investment. This program can assist those students that have a demonstrated need for an equipment upgrade. Some students’ current computers are objectively inadequate for more than the most basic educational assignments. These technological limitations can impact the ability of our members to succeed on their educational journeys. Financial limitations can force students to choose between groceries that are healthy and getting online reliably.
