ERA Donates Computers to Support Impact Neighbourhood Services’ Food Security and Literacy Program

By electronic recycling association September 18, 2024

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) recently donated two desktop computers to Impact Neighbourhood Services in Scarborough, ON. This donation will support the expansion of their Food Security and Literacy Program, which serves new immigrants, low-income families, and homeless individuals.

Impact Neighbourhood Services is working to address the diverse needs of the community through three core initiatives:

  1. Food Security Education: Providing information and resources to help participants access and manage food, understand nutrition, and make informed choices.
  2. Literacy Support: Offering workshops to improve English literacy, digital skills, and financial literacy—skills essential for community engagement and economic independence.
  3. Community Integration: Connecting participants with local services and support networks to promote overall well-being and integration into society.

The donated computers will help the organization streamline operations, manage workshops, track participant progress, and create educational resources. Additionally, they will support grant writing and fundraising efforts to ensure the sustainability of the program. Most importantly, the computers will enhance participant support by providing digital access to essential resources that promote literacy and food security.
