ERA was happy to donate 5 laptops, 2 printers, and 1 projector to First Nations Water Association to provide an opportunity for education, training, networking, and skills enhancement to the staff involved in the day to day operation and maintenance of water and wastewater systems. The devices will be used by staff and board members to communicate with each other, take minutes, write documents, visit the association’s website, write funding applications, email members, give presentations and deliver training workshops, print documents/handouts, and other computer tasks.

First Nations Water Association’s objectives are:
- Provide an opportunity for education, training, networking, and skills enhancement to the staff involved in the day to day operation and maintenance of water and wastewater systems.
- Create a professional network for all those involved in drinking water and/or wastewater.
- Establish formal First Nation water and wastewater certification programs.
- Establish a formal environmental control facilities classification system (database).
- Initiate affiliations with professional organizations to ensure consistency in certification and classification.
- Support operators and water staff to achieve regulatory compliance.
- Work with university, and other researchers to investigate industry innovations and best practices for drinking water and wastewater.
- Promote health and safety in the workplace.
- Hold Annual General Meetings and sponsor various conferences and workshops.

The ERA works with charities across the country to provide refurbished electronics for their programs. This gives them access to reliable technology while allowing them to apply their resources to what they’re good at: developing programs to help Canadians struggling with poverty, health concerns, or are otherwise experiencing misfortune. Because the Electronic Recycling Association is an advocate of equality, we are not specifically affiliated with a given charity. The ERA helps hundreds of charitable organizations each year through the donation of necessary computer equipment. Organizations qualified for donations through ERA’s donation program include: registered charities, non-profit organizations, care facilities (seniors homes, hospitals, daycares, etc.) and educational institutions.
