ERA Donates Tech to the CMHA’s Apartment Program

By electronic recycling association June 3, 2024

At the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA), we are dedicated to giving back to the community by providing refurbished technology to those in need. One of the programs that has greatly benefited from our efforts is the Canadian Mental Health Association’s (CMHA) Apartment Program.

The demand for laptops and cell phones within the CMHA Apartment Program is ever-increasing. Clients rely on these devices for a variety of essential purposes. Some are pursuing online educational opportunities to advance their careers, while others need a cell phone for safety and connectivity as they navigate daily life in the city.

ERA understands that many clients in the CMHA Apartment Program are living on AISH or Alberta Works and cannot afford the technology they need. That’s why we are committed to providing these necessary tools to improve their quality of life. Our recent donation of 4 laptops and 5 cell phones on May 29th, 2024

We are thrilled to see the positive changes our donations are making. Linda Barrett, MSW, RSW, Supportive Living Coordinator at CMHA, has expressed deep gratitude for our support, emphasizing how these contributions are not just devices but lifelines for many clients.

The Electronic Recycling Association donates refurbished technology and IT devices to a number of different organizations across Canada, varying from non-profits, charities, schools, and care centers. The ERA is proud to support the communities we operate in and work towards creating a future where technology isn’t a barrier to any individual. The ERA believes that providing laptops to the less fortunate enables unimaginable outcomes and advances in the digital era. In a world where technology links people together, our donated laptops and computers also aid in keeping recipients connected with loved ones.
