ERA Donates Technology to Homelessness Society of the Bow Valley

By electronic recycling association July 22, 2024

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) recently donated 5 high-end laptops, 2 monitors, a projector, 2 cell phones, and 2 tablets to the Homelessness Society of the Bow Valley, a nonprofit organization in Canmore, AB. These donations aim to bolster their digital infrastructure and enhance their outreach capabilities.

The Homelessness Society of the Bow Valley has been relying on a single outdated Android phone and staff’s personal devices for operational communications and program management. This limitation has significantly hindered their efficiency. By expanding their digital capacity with the donated technology, the society aims to improve staff access to essential software, enhance service delivery, and better coordinate their efforts to meet the needs of community members promptly and effectively.

The Homelessness Society of the Bow Valley provides two essential programs: a year-round Outreach program and a seasonally operated Emergency Winter Shelter. These programs offer critical support to individuals who are unhoused or housing insecure within the Bow Valley.
