ERA Gives Laptop to Toronto Non-Profit Supporting Immigrant Families

By electronic recycling association June 25, 2021

Information Tech Partnership Canada is a non-profit organization that needs laptops to donate to disadvantaged immigrant families in the Greater Toronto Area. They provide basic training for these families to introduce them to using the internet for daily activities and transactions, basic cybersecurity best practices, and basic MS Word. For most of these parents and children, it is their very first introduction to the IT universe. To keep this interest burning it is very important they have the necessary equipment like laptops at home to use and continue practicing. The Electronic Recycling Association was happy to provide a laptop to one of their families.

Information Tech Partnership Canada is helping disadvantaged communities and low-income immigrants (mostly African so far) close the Information Technology gap by providing IT Training & Workshops for both parents and children, providing laptops/desktops to encourage further practice at home and love for everything computers. They are still in need of more devices so if you would like to help this organization, call us at 1877-9EWASTE to see if you are eligible for a free pickup or visit our drop-off depot located at #15, 489 Brimley Rd, Scarborough. We are open Mon-Friday, 9a-5p.

Electronic recycling in Toronto is simple with the team here at the Electronic Recycling Association. We take all electronic devices, refurbish them, and then hand them to one of our many Canadian charities. Our model is aimed at helping reduce the amount of e-waste in the country, while also helping people in need. You can make a difference to your community and the environment with our programs and service.

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is a non-profit organization founded in 2004 to address the growing problem of e-waste and the increasing ‘digital divide’. For over fifteen years, ERA has offered simple solutions to help individuals and organizations prevent operational equipment from premature destruction. With a focus on recovery, refurbishment and reuse, ERA continuously supplies charitable groups with donated IT equipment while securely managing the retiring IT assets of organizations and individuals across Canada. We believe that reuse before recycling is critical in managing the waste created by computer hardware, and by offering industry-leading data destruction for all equipment we receive, we have securely repurposed hundreds of tons of equipment. Because not everything ERA receives can be reasonably repurposed, we have partnered with certified recycling organizations to process equipment that has reached the end of its productive life.
