The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is pleased to assist these individuals and their families with laptops through our Lending a Lifeline by Lending a Laptop Program. A majority of the devices will be used for online schooling while others will be use for online job searches and connecting with family.
“I’m so happy my kids can do their school work now” -Lending Laptop recipient
Well before the Covid-19 pandemic ERA saw an increase in donation request for electronic devices, but with new restriction across Canada along with in-person learning switching back to virtual online classes ERA’s waiting list has doubled over the past year.
The ERA will continue to support organizations, families and individuals in need with refurbished electronics who can’t afford them through this time of uncertainty, but we need your help. Just bring your pre-loved devices to ERA and we will work to distribute them back into the community.
For more information on how you can donate your electronics or where you can find a depot near you please visit www.era.ca
About ERA
The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is a non-profit organization founded in 2004 to address the growing problem of e-waste and the increasing ‘digital divide’. For over fifteen years, ERA has offered simple solutions to help individuals and organizations prevent operational equipment from premature destruction. With a focus on recovery, refurbishment and reuse, ERA continuously supplies charitable groups with donated IT equipment while securely managing the retiring IT assets of organizations and individuals across Canada. We believe that reuse before recycling is critical in managing the waste created by computer hardware, and by offering industry-leading data destruction for all equipment we receive, we have securely repurposed hundreds of tons of equipment. Because not everything ERA receives can be reasonably repurposed, we have partnered with certified recycling organizations to process equipment that has reached the end of its productive life.
