ERA Teams Up with Law Enforcement and Experts to Tackle Fraud in Edmonton

Fraud remains a significant threat to individuals and businesses, making awareness and prevention more important than ever. To address this issue, the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) proudly joined forces with leading organizations to launch Fraud Prevention Month 2025.

On Monday, March 3, 2025, ERA, alongside key partners including the RCMP, Edmonton Police Service, Alberta Blue Cross, Better Business Bureau, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Real Estate Council of Alberta, Service Alberta, Alberta Community Crime Prevention Association, Crime Stoppers, Servus Credit Union, and Edmonton Neighbourhood Watch, officially kicked off this important initiative at the Central Lions Seniors Centre in Edmonton, AB.

The event brought together experts and community leaders to educate the public about various forms of fraud, including identity theft, online scams, and financial fraud. Attendees had the opportunity to learn practical fraud prevention strategies and gain insights into protecting themselves and their communities.

As an organization committed to both electronic waste reduction and data security, ERA emphasized the importance of responsible electronic disposal in preventing cyber-related fraud. With digital threats on the rise, secure data management remains a key focus in fraud prevention efforts.

The launch of Fraud Prevention Month 2025 in Edmonton was a successful step toward increasing awareness and equipping individuals with the knowledge to combat fraud.
