Everdale Environmental Learning Centre Receives 3 Laptops

By electronic recycling association February 8, 2021

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is pleased to provide the Everdale Environmental Learning Centre in Hillsburgh, ON with 3 laptops.  This donation will replace their outdated devices that are slowing down staff production with having to wait longer for the computers to boot up and programs to load.

The Everdale Environmental Learning Centre was founded in 1998 and became a registered charity in 2000. Their mission is to be a farm-based organization that provides hands-on, solution-based food and farming education to build and engage healthy local communities. To accomplish this, they deliver a wide range of hands-on learning programs on food and farming to people of all ages and backgrounds. They have a few main areas of focus.

  • Production Farm – They grow about three acres of annual organic vegetables.  These are sold to their community through their Harvest Share program and provided to their community partners for use in the community’s food security initiatives.
  • Youth Education – Everdale’s Farm Camp program has seen thousands of children spend part of their summer at the farm.
  • Farmer Training – Everdale runs a number of programs designed to get people the skills they need in order to be successful farmers and entrepreneurs.

Everdale is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors whom provide leadership and guide the strategic direction of their organization. Over the years they have had many great volunteer board members step up from the community and many are still involved with Everdale! Interested in participating as a board member? Please visit their website here.

The ERA works with charities across the country to provide refurbished electronics for their programs. This gives them access to reliable technology while allowing them to apply their resources to what they’re good at: developing programs to help Canadians struggling with poverty, health concerns or are otherwise experiencing misfortune. Because the Electronic Recycling Association is an advocate of equality, we are not specifically affiliated with a given charity. The ERA helps hundreds of charitable organizations each year through the donation of necessary computer equipment. Organizations qualified for donations through ERA’s donation program include: registered charities, non-profit organizations, care facilities (seniors homes, hospitals, daycares, etc.) and educational institutions.
