On April 2nd, 2022 the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) & the Surrey RCMP partnered together to help the community of Surrey, BC protect their private information through data destruction.
We held an electronics collection and data shredding event at the Guildford Town Centre where citizens donate unwanted electronic devices such as hard drives, computers, laptops, phones, tablets, tapes and other small devices storing sensitive data. Citizens where able to securely destroyed OR wiped clean and re-used for FREE in support of Fraud Prevention Month. Surrey RCMP also invited citizens to bring down non-perishable food to help the Surrey Food Bank.
We would like to thank the Surrey RCMP for partnering with us for such an important event, as part of ERA’s efforts to raise awareness of the dangers associated with inadequate diligence around personal computing devices. Studies have shown that fear of data being recovered from old equipment is one of the biggest obstacles of reuse. When you utilize the ERA’s data destruction services, you can be assured that your data will be secure from retrieval.
