Garneau Hall Receives a Desktop Computer

By electronic recycling association January 28, 2021

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is pleased to assist Garneau Hall in Edmonton with a donated desktop computer. The residents of their senior’s community have been advised to remain in the building as a result of rising COVID-19 numbers, which means they are unable to see any of their friends or family.  This donation will now allow the residents of Garneau Hall to virtually communicate with their loved ones.

At Garneau Hall, they aim to provide an environment that offers Residents and their families total peace of mind.  Garneau Hall’s Supportive Services are available and delivered in a way that promotes safety and independence while protecting the resident’s dignity and confidentiality.

While embracing a home-like environment, Garneau Hall provides senior Supportive Services which include:

  • Monthly Foot Care
  • Monthly Physician Visit
  • Monthly Hearing Clinic
  • Monthly Massage Therapist
  • Assistance with Eye Drops
  • Personal Care
  • Coordination with Outside Health Agencies

The ERA works with charities across the country to provide refurbished electronics for their programs. This gives them access to reliable technology while allowing them to apply their resources to what they’re good at: developing programs to help Canadians struggling with poverty, health concerns, or are otherwise experiencing misfortune. Because the Electronic Recycling Association is an advocate of equality, we are not specifically affiliated with a given charity. The ERA helps hundreds of charitable organizations each year through the donation of necessary computer equipment. Organizations qualified for donations through ERA’s donation program include: registered charities, non-profit organizations, care facilities (seniors homes, hospitals, daycares, etc.) and educational institutions.

We strive to meet reasonable requests for IT and related equipment, such as computers, laptops, projection equipment, printers, phones and related peripherals. Our goal is to fulfill every single reasonable request for a computer donation that we receive, and we are thrilled to announce that we are getting close to achieving this goal. Since 2004, we have donated thousands of computers to Canadians in need and this number grows daily.

If you are looking to safely and securely dispose of any unwanted electronics, call the ERA to see if you are eligible for a free pickup. With a focus on recovery, refurbishment, and reuse, ERA continuously supplies charitable groups with donated IT equipment while securely managing the retiring IT assets of organizations and individuals across Canada. We believe that reuse before recycling is critical in managing the waste created by computer hardware, and by offering industry-leading data destruction for all equipment we receive, we have securely repurposed hundreds of tons of equipment. Because not everything ERA receives can be reasonably repurposed, we have partnered with certified recycling organizations to process equipment that has reached the end of its productive life.
