Immigrant Services Calgary has been providing a wide range of settlement services to immigrants and refugees looking to begin a new chapter of their lives in Canada. They employ a client-focused, integrated approach when working with individuals and their families to help them settle in Calgary.
Their aim is to reach newcomers in a timely and responsive manner to facilitate a smooth transition, proper settlement and successful integration into the Calgary community. They work collaboratively to ensure their clients have access to programs and services that can help them overcome the challenges that come with immigrating to a new country, thus setting them up to succeed in their new life in Canada.
For over 40 years, they have worked to make a difference in the lives of immigrant and refugee families and individuals. From their humble beginnings as a one-person team to becoming one of the largest settlement organizations in Alberta, they continue to offer a broad range of comprehensive programs and services to facilitate successful settlement and integration of immigrants and refugees in Canada.
The agency logo describes them best: the three freshly sprouted leaves depicting the interconnection of immigrants and refugees starting a new life, their valued stakeholders and community partners, and their own agency. The red maple leaf represents Canada and the Canadian society and the fusion of the two plants represents the successful settlement and integration of recent arrivals.
Immigrant Services Calgary’s valued volunteers form an important part of their team. They offer rewarding and exciting career and volunteer opportunities for members of the community interested in helping immigrants and their families become fully integrated members of Canadian society. The ERA was thrilled to donate three laptops to this organization so that they can distribute them out to their clients in need. These laptops will be a major help to each of the families involved. Some of the ways that they will benefit are as follows; searching the web for work, working on resumes, completing school assignments and day to day tasks. ERA has an ongoing commitment with Immigrant Services Calgary and is proud to support this deserving organization with computers.
