Leading E-Waste Organization Now Open for Business in Winnipeg
The Electronic Recycling Association has now opened a full-service depot in Winnipeg
Winnipeg, MB (July 28, 2015) – The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to announce the grand opening of a brand new location in the “gateway to the west”, Winnipeg, MB. ERA’s new depot is located at 1681 Dublin Avenue.
The ERA, a not for profit organization, has been reducing unnecessary e-waste and its adverse environmental contribution through the recovery, refurbishment and donation of electronic and IT equipment since 2004. The ERA also has locations in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Montreal and Toronto.
“We are excited to announce that we are now operating in this rapidly growing community. All of our services – corporate pickups, individual drop-offs, data destruction and reporting, our charitable donation, fundraising and community cleanup programs – are all now available. There is a real need in the community for this type of service, and we are looking forward to contributing to Winnipeg’s overall sustainability,” says Bojan Paduh, founder and president of ERA.
ERA believes reuse before recycling is the most viable solution for unwanted computers and related electronic equipment, and strives to ensure that operational IT equipment remains in use until its true end of life. ERA works with individuals and corporations to reuse and refurbish computers, laptops and other electronic equipment, and make valuable technology donations to local communities and throughout Manitoba.

Donation Requests Pour in despite Dry Spell in Equipment Donations for Local Non-Profit
Slow start to summer means long waitlist and unfulfilled donation requests for many Canadian charities
Calgary, AB (July 27, 2014) – Bojan Paduh, Founder and President of the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA), released a statement today asking the public to consider donating their unwanted or retiring computer equipment to ERA so it may be refurbished for donation to numerous Canadian charities in need of computers.
“It has been a unique several months,” said Paduh. “Requests for computer donations are coming in as usual but we aren’t receiving the same amount of retiring corporate equipment, so we can’t keep up” he added. “Some of our charitable partners have been waiting for over six weeks for a donation, but right now we simply don’t have the equipment to help them.”
ERA relies on donated computer equipment, which they clean, test and refurbish for secondary use. Much of what ERA is able to reuse is then donated to Canadian charitable organizations and non-profits. Throughout the summer months ERA typically sees a slowdown in equipment donations, but Paduh notes that this year is even slower than usual.
“We have been around for over ten years now, so we have some long-term partners who have come to rely on us for their computer equipment,” said Paduh, “but we can’t refurbish and donate equipment we aren’t receiving.”
The organization is reaching out to the public for help. “Most people have old equipment stored somewhere. Even if it isn’t working, our techs can often fix it or use parts to build operational computers,” said Paduh. “It doesn’t cost anything, it frees up valuable storage space, we always ensure data security as our top priority and many times we can even come pick up equipment for free.”
Corporate pickups can be booked online or by contacting ERA, full information can be found at www.era.ca. Equipment may also be dropped off at ERA’s various depots, also listed online.

July 9 – The ERA was happy to provide a computer to Momentum! The recipient will be using the computer to launch her own online business, a process stalled when her old computer stopped working. Momentum exists because, despite all of Calgary’s prosperity, there are still people living in poverty in our city, many of whom work full-time hours. These Calgarians do not need a band-aid approach to crisis management; they need the tools to prevent such crises from happening. Momentum serves people who are ready to make a change and make it last.

Simply host a collection event, we’ll pick up all of the equipment you collect, and much like a bottle drive provide you with a rebate based on how much you collect.
