Lower Mainland Purpose Society Receives 28 Laptops

By electronic recycling association May 26, 2022

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) was proud to partner with New Westminster Police to host a collection event. Electronics collected provided computers to charities in the community who are in need. We were pleased to donate 28 laptops to the Lower Mainland Purpose Society.

The devices will be used to help support the Purpose Society’s Digital Inclusion Project which aims to help eliminate the digital divide within the New Westminster, BC community by providing a space where people are able to come and use electronic devices for free, access Internet, and one-on-one support.

The Lower Mainland Purpose Society is a community-based multi-service organization that delivers a continuum of programs to children, youth and families.  To learn more about The Lower Mainland Purpose Society visit their website HERE for more information.

The Electronic Recycling Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing electronic waste through the reuse and recycling of unwanted computers, laptops and related electronic equipment.

  • Effective management of retiring electronic and IT equipment
  • Pickup services, donation services, buyback services
  • Data security measures, data wiping, hard drive shredding
  • Computer donation services, computer recycling
  • Depots in major Canadian cities and USA

Addressing data security represents a core element of the ERA’s value proposition and service offering. We possess robust data wiping and physical destruction capabilities, and have employed these capabilities in partnership with Canadian Law Enforcement agencies as part of our efforts to raise awareness of the dangers associated with inadequate diligence around personal computing devices. Studies have shown that fear of data being recovered from old equipment is one of the biggest obstacles of reuse. When you utilize the ERA’s data destruction services, you can be assured that your data will be secure from retrieval.

Call us at 1877-9EWASTE or book a pickup online. Your old devices could be used to help someone in need!
