“For Canadians with sight loss, having access to a modern smartphone has allowed them to stay connected with loved ones while social distancing and to access virtual programming for continued education. We have shifted from a fast-paced, high touch environment to a virtual, no-touch world in the last year and a half, and technology is more important than ever. Smartphone apps allow our neighbours with sight loss to navigate their world safely and independently. Thanks to the Electronic Recycling Association and the Alberta Securities Commission, we will be able to continue providing this life-changing technology to Canadians with sight loss.” Diane Bergeron, Vice-President, International Affairs, and Acting ED of CNIB Foundation Alberta
“For women and children impacted by family violence, a cell phone is not just a convenience, it is a lifeline. This gift will ensure women can stay safe and connected to the vital services that make it possible to exit abusive homes.” Linda McLean, Executive Director, Brenda Strafford Society
