By electronic recycling association May 27, 2021

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is happy to provide Project Humanity with a donated laptop to assist with their online mentorship program.

Project: Humanity’s COVID-19 Artist Partnership Program is a 1:1 online mentorship program provided by Project: Humanity to youth in 7 shelters across the GTA, at no cost to the shelter or the youth. Since May 2020, they’ve paired over 40 young people with professional artists for 12 weeks of mentorship in a discipline of their choice, including audio production, graphic + web design, photography, playwriting, violin, guitar, and visual arts.

Project: Humanity (PH) is a socially-engaged theatre company founded in 2008. Based in Toronto, but active nationally, PH believes the performing arts can bring disparate groups together and help them listen more compassionately. They’ve become one of the country’s leading developers of Verbatim Theatre, a journalistic form of theatre that involves transforming original interview transcripts into ‘live documentaries’ for the stage. The PH: YOUTH arm of the company, operating in both high schools and the youth shelter system, has impacted the lives of over 19,000 students since they incorporated eleven years ago.

The Electronic Recycling Association is a non-profit organization founded in 2004 to address the growing problem of e-waste and the increasing ‘digital divide’. For over fifteen years, ERA has offered simple solutions to help individuals and organizations prevent operational equipment from premature destruction. With a focus on recovery, refurbishment and reuse, ERA continuously supplies charitable groups with donated IT equipment while securely managing the retiring IT assets of organizations and individuals across Canada. We believe that reuse before recycling is critical in managing the waste created by computer hardware, and by offering industry-leading data destruction for all equipment we receive, we have securely repurposed hundreds of tons of equipment. Because not everything ERA receives can be reasonably repurposed, we have partnered with certified recycling organizations to process equipment that has reached the end of its productive life.

With depots throughout Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and all of Canada. ERA provides a great way to recycle electronic equipment safely and securely. You can also call us at 1877-9EWASTE to see if you are eligible for a free pickup!
