ERA Donates a Laptop, Desktop Computer and Printer to Center for Newcomers
The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) recently made a meaningful donation of a laptop, printer and desktop computer to a client of the Center for Newcomers in Calgary, supporting a family of five. As they work to establish their lives in Canada, this family—parents and three school-aged children—expressed a need for additional technology resources to assist with their educational and employment pursuits. ERA was glad to take the first step, helping them get started with these essential tools.
The family is now looking to expand their home technology setup with additional laptops and a printer, ensuring each child has access to the resources they need for a successful school year. Having technology at home is a vital asset for newcomers, particularly for children navigating new school systems. Access to laptops and printers allows students to complete assignments, participate in online learning, and develop digital skills essential for future careers.
The Center for Newcomers, which has been a strong advocate for immigrant and refugee families, supports newcomers by connecting them with resources like housing, language programs, and employment services. By partnering with organizations like ERA, the Center helps address the digital divide many new Canadians face, ensuring they have access to the technology needed to succeed in a digital world.
The Electronic Recycling Association has long been committed to bridging this technology gap by refurbishing donated electronics and redistributing them to communities in need. Each device donation helps ERA continue its mission to reduce e-waste while promoting digital inclusivity for individuals and families across Canada.
If you or your company have gently used laptops, desktops, or printers to donate, consider partnering with the Electronic Recycling Association. Your contribution could make a tremendous difference for families like this one, empowering them with the tools they need to thrive in Canada.
