Day 6 of ERA’s 12 Days of Electronics Giving
The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to continue its mission of giving back during the 12 Days of Electronics Giving. On Day 6, ERA donated technology to 4 organizations across Canada, empowering seniors, underserved communities, and individuals in need. With 500+ charities still on our waitlist, ERA encourages businesses and individuals to donate electronics and help make a difference.

Here are the recipients for the 6th Day:
It Takes a Village Community Outreach and Advocacy (Halifax, NS): 10 Desktop Computers
ERA donated 10 desktop computers to support seniors aged 65 and up. These computers provide access to virtual meet-ups, video calls, and social training classes, using tools like FaceTime, Zoom, and WhatsApp. In an effort to combat social isolation—a challenge faced by many seniors—this donation helps older adults connect with friends, family, and their community.
Galiano Conservancy Association (Galiano Island, BC): 4 Desktop Computers, 1 Laptop, 8 Monitors
Located on Galiano Island, BC, the Conservancy Association received essential technology upgrades. The donated computers and monitors replaced aging devices and improved workstations with dual-screen setups. Additionally, the laptop will support hybrid board meetings and fieldwork, enabling greater accessibility and efficiency for their operations.
Equal Housing Initiative Inc (Winnipeg, MB): 1 Printer, 2 Monitors
ERA provided technology for the Equal Housing Initiative’s clients at the McLaren Hotel in Downtown Winnipeg. These individuals face significant housing challenges and are often part of the hidden homeless population. Access to technology helps support their needs and improve day-to-day resources.
PEN Canada (Toronto, ON): 5 Laptops
The laptops donated to PEN Canada benefit the Writers community. These writers, many of whom arrive in Canada with few belongings, rely on basic laptops to share their stories with the world. PEN Canada’s program provides essential support for journalists, poets, and writers forced to flee their home countries.
