Are you passionate about sustainability, eager to make a local impact, or looking to gain hands-on experience with electronics? The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is excited to welcome volunteers in Montreal to help us reduce e-waste, support local charities, and give new life to donated devices.
Whether you’re a student completing service hours, someone interested in the tech field, or simply want to give back to your community – this is a rewarding opportunity. No technical background is required – just bring your enthusiasm, steel-toed boots, and willingness to learn!
What Will You Be Doing?
As a volunteer at our Montreal depot, you’ll take part in various warehouse and tech-related tasks that directly support ERA’s mission. These include:
- Sorting different types of cables, adapters, and electronic parts
- Testing and cleaning monitors
- Removing stickers and asset tags from devices
- Organizing computer accessories such as laptop bags and RAM
- Disassembling electronics to recover reusable components
- Assisting with unloading donations and general warehouse organization
- Cleaning equipment and workstations to keep the area safe and tidy
Why Volunteer with ERA?
Volunteering with ERA offers more than just experience – it’s a chance to make a real difference. You’ll build practical skills in a hands-on tech environment while actively supporting a greener future. Your time contributes directly to the donation of refurbished computers to local charities and individuals in need. You’ll work alongside a supportive, like-minded team, and as a thank-you, you’ll receive a refurbished laptop or desktop computer after completing 24 volunteer hours – plus a certificate of appreciation recognizing your contribution.
