Wild Rose Community Connections is an early intervention in-home support program for high risk and vulnerable families with young children. Helping families raise happy, healthy children in rural communities south of Calgary for 20 years.
“One of our single dads we are working with is trying to launch his own business from home and his laptop just shorted out and is destroyed. He has employment barriers and finds it difficult to find a job that fits with his limitations while raising his 7-year old son. He has had a very difficult couple of years and really needs a break,” said Executive Director Marianne Dickson.
Many families face financial struggles among other barriers and cannot afford the technology that most of us take for granted so Marianne reached out to the ERA. Having access to a laptop will assist families in accessing resources, applying for employment, taking online training to enhance their employability, and to have an educational tool for their children. She is passionate about assisting families in having access to these resources and the ERA was happy to help by providing Wild Rose Community Connections with 3 laptops.
Wild Rose Community Connections was founded on the principle that together they could enrich the lives of individuals, children and families. There are endless opportunities to touch a life in a meaningful way, but they have chosen to focus on programs with the greatest impact. Their values guide every aspect of their business from who they partner with, to how they interact with the communities that they operate in. They are passionate about doing good and hope to attract others who feel the same way to grow their efforts.
Wild Rose Community Connections brings together good people to do simple, but powerful things that make a positive difference in the lives of individuals, children and families. They focus on food, mentorship, social work and helping families build strong futures. Their organization is entirely dependent on the time, passion and vision of their workers, volunteers and community partners. Together, they are committed to creating connections that will grow stronger families and communities. Visit their website here to learn how you can help.
